Make sure that you check the tires on a regular basis, use a quality tire gauge and consult the tire pressure placard, usually found on the driver's door or doorpost, or sometimes in the glove box. Make sure you find that placard, find out the proper pressure and check it at least once a month. Try and pick a day that represents the average ambient temperature for that time of the year. Check it monthly.

The HST is applied to the vehicle price you negotiate, but there are a few other taxes required by law. If your vehicle comes equipped with air conditioning there is a 100.00 air condition tax that is collected on behalf of the government. Also there is a 30.20 environmental tax that is applied to all new vehicles.

In city driving with an automatic transmission should I defeat the overdrive and run it in drive or leave it in overdrive?" Well, by leaving it in overdrive you realize all the fuel saving benefits of an overdrive transmission. In other words the transmission will quickly shift up at the earliest point into overdrive, thereby reducing the RPM and maximizing fuel economy. The downside to this, however, is that the vehicle speed picks up very rapidly and you also don't get the deceleration you're looking for when you lift off the throttle. So by defeating the overdrive and running it in drive, you'll find the vehicle much more. You'll be able to hold to the road speeds posted more easily and when you lift off of the gas the vehicle will want to slow down.

The 5 or 0 stands for the viscosity at start up or when the oil is cold. The lower the number, the thinner the oil. The 20 stands for the viscosity when the oil is up to temperature. With Toyota’s tight tolerances the thinner oil allows the engine to work less and provide better fuel mileage. The 0w20 oil is also a synthetic manmade oil that can be designed to perform to exact specifications.

Snow tires have added groove capacity helping dispel any of the excess snow as well the tire is made of a softer compound vs. an all season tire again giving it extra traction. Some tires are designed to actually grab the snow and throw it as the tire turns. Tread patterns are designed to give extra traction. The snow symbol imprinted on the sidewall indicates in fact that it is a snow tire and will give superior performance in winter conditions vs. an all season tire.
