A Dealership Experience

I was looking to buy a car and went to a Domestic dealership, and then proceeded to an Import dealer right after. The deference was like day and night. When I first arrived at the domestic dealer I was greeted by one very aggressive salesperson that walked me right over to his office and the proceeded to ask me 20 questions. Once I had answered those questions he went to his manager where they assumed that I was going to buy a car right there and then and gave me a 2000 discount before I even asked for a discount. I didn't feel comfortable and left the dealership.
I then proceeded to an import dealer where I was greeted by a polite but direct salesperson. He asked if I had ever driven one of their cars, which I had not. He then test drove me down the street and then came back and proceed to his office, and there I asked him what kind of a deal I could get. He asked me whether I would like a stripe on the side of the car or 100.00 discount? This was a total shock to me as I had always negotiated the deal and it always involved the 3 step dance, which usually took place between the sales person and the Manager.
After this I went back to that same dealer and purchased another 5 cars and I will never forget that experience. It was probably because of this situation that led me to the automotive business and encouraged me to stay in the business, to hopefully enlight my customers, like I once was.
