So here we are on November 24th wondering where our Toronto Maple Leafs will end up at the end of the regular season. Most of us remember that last November the hockey gods were not kind to the Leafs, digging themselves into a hole that a post All Star Game surge did not allow them to get out of. But this season we find our team 2 points out of first place at 26 points with 12 wins, 8 losses and 2 OT losses. Perhaps even more incredible is that we have the first and third leading scorers in the league, Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul. It has been a very long time since 2 Leafs have been at the top of that list. Their success is coming when the team has 6 starters out of the lineup, including the starting goalie James Reimer.

Will the Leafs make the playoffs for the first time since the 2003/2004 season? If the Leafs can avoid a prolonged slump, stay out of the penalty box, continue to score goals and get healthy, we all may have something to cheer about come April. For now, we will continue to have our discussions about last night's game around the water cooler here at Mississauga Toyota Scion and cheer on our team's progress through the season. I am looking forward to seeing you down at the ACC in April for the first game of the playoffs.
