We chose Camp Nokomis as an Organization of choice as children are our future. And what better way is there for children to learn than by having the camping experience and being surrounded by something they would never otherwise experience.

For over 50 years, the Etobicoke Queensway Lions club has focused its energy in providing quality camping for boys and girls, aged 7 – 16 years, primarily from neighborhoods and schools of South Etobicoke. In that time over 7000 young people have enjoyed this unique and transformative experience. More recently the camp attracted campers from all parts of the GTA and Southern Ontario as well as South Korea, England, Germany and Spain.

Their mission is that “no child should be precluded from the residential camping experience due to an inability to afford the registration fee.” Over 3500 campers have been partially funded or fully sponsored to go to camp. In this complicated world, it is our philosophy that kids and leaders return home from camp as better people, better citizens, better ambassadors; more tolerant and aware of people, religions and the environment around them!
