What is EVAP?

Canada’s Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) is a federal initiative designed to make electric driving more accessible.

It helps reduce the upfront cost of purchasing or leasing a new electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle—so you can switch to electric sooner.

Do You Qualify?

Vehicle Eligibility

  • Date: Purchased or leased on or after February 16, 2026
  • Value: Final transaction value of $50,000 or less (no cap for Canadian-made)
  • Standards: Meets Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
  • Condition: New vehicle or demonstrator under 10,000 km

Buyer Eligibility

  • Residents: Must be a Canadian resident
  • Individuals: One incentive over program life
  • Businesses: Up to 10 incentives available
