It’s Warm and Sunny Out. Let’s Talk Winter TiresSep 13rd, 2018
Late summer, early fall weather is the best! This week’s weather report has us looking at clear skies and temperatures in the high 20’s. It’s no wonder a lot of people say this is their favourite time of the year. That’s why we should start talking about winter tires.
I know what you’re thinking, “wait…WHAT??!”
It is the last thing most of us are thinking about however read on as I want to give you some simple reasons to plan ahead. Like the saying goes “do something your future self will thank you for”. Here’s my short list of why you want to get an early jump on planning your winter tire installations or purchasing new rubber if that is your scenario this winter.
1. Beat the Rush: This is a no-brainer. Let’s face it, many of us will wait until we see that first snow flake to remember we must get our winter tires on our cars. My recommendation here is to book your appointment well ahead of time; a great window to beat the crowds is between October 1st – October 31st. When the rush happens, our bays will fill and desired times may not be as readily available. We always make the best effort to get everyone through as quickly as possible but it is truly a numbers game when everyone books tire changes at the same time.
2. Peace of Mind: To emphasize my point above, start thinking about late fall and winter trips you may have to take. Are you hockey parents? Do a ton of driving, getting the kids from rink to rink? Your time on the road may drastically increase before the end of the year, there’s plenty of reasons why. Sports, holidays and day trips will fill your schedule quickly. You don’t need to be worrying about whether your tires will hold up if the weather turns unexpectedly.
3. Rebates are Rebates: Some of you may be thinking “I’ll wait until the rebates get better before I purchase new tires”. Most tire companies will build their rebates for the season and they won’t change. There are lots of great ones to take advantage of, but don’t wait to think they will improve as the season goes on.
4. Free Assessments: If you’re unsure whether your winter tires may last one more season simply bring one (or all of them) into the dealership and we’ll assess it for you free. If everything is a-ok then it’s just a matter of scheduling your change or looking at new options for the next set.
Enjoy the sunny, warm weather while it lasts but don’t forget the season will change and so will the road conditions. If you have any questions or concerns about your tires don’t hesitate to stop by the dealership and ask for Josue or one of our Parts Advisors. We’re closer than you think at 2215 Dundas St E, Mississauga - (905) 625-3540.
